They are manufactured in long tubes, then cut and split to create individual bags. Plastic bags are commonly used, a convenient and sanitary method of treating garbage. Plastic garbage bags are relatively lightweight and are especially suitable for messy or damp trash, which is typically the case with food waste, and are often useful for garbage wrapping to reduce odour. Plastic bags are also used for containers or bins for lining litters or waste. In several stores, plastic bags for rubbish or waste are sold in packets or rolls of a few tens of bags in a variety of sizes. Often, wire twist ties are supplied to close the bag once it is full. Various thicknesses are widely manufactured-thicker bags are used for heavy-duty applications such as construction waste, or to be able to resist being compacted through recycling.
