The BPCL Petrochemical Complex, the first of its type, has an Acrylic Acid unit, an Acrylates unit, and an Oxo-alcohol unit, all of which are of world-class size and capacity and were dedicated to the Nation by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India in February 2021. The first product, Acrylic, was introduced on April 14, 2021. N-Butanol and the PDPP Truck Loading Gantry were inaugurated on April 22, 2021. The LP Oxo Selector 30 technology is used in the OXO ALCOHOL unit, which was established in March 2021 and is intended to generate N-Butanol, 2 Ethyl Hexanol, and I-Butanol. In particular, 2 ETHYL HEXANOL is needed for plasticizers used in PVC manufacturing, speciality plasticizers, co-monomers in polyethene resins for adhesive, cetane improvers, and temperature-resistant polymers. The BPCL Petrochemical Complex will primarily help Indian paint, cosmetics, ink, plasticizer, and many other downstream sectors once it is fully developed and delivered as a #makeinindia initiative.
