The role of road transport is further compounded by the fact that FMCG networks involve high frequency as well as small parcel delivery capacity. Consumption of FMCG goods such as foods and drinks normally demand replenishment on frequent bases, and road transport offers the flexibility required to undertake the restocking exercise with little interferences.
